Amemdments
to the Structured Colposcopy Training Programme and Registration
I refer to the “Structured Coploscopy Training
Programme and Registration” send out to the O&G
fraternity in 2003. The SCCPS have since received valuable
feedback and have registered some of your concerns regarding
the registration processes and criteria. I am pleased to inform
you that after much deliberation between the SCCPS, OGSS and
Health Promotion Board, we have taken into consideration some
of these concerns and made some amendments to the Training
Programme and Registration.
These
are :
1.
The minimum number of colposcopies performed over a 2-year
period for retention in the Register of Colposcopists
has been reduced from 50 cases to 30 cases.
2.
The 2-yearly register maintenance fee of $50 has been waived.
3.
3. The closing date for the grandfather clause for specialists
registered by the SAB (Specialists Accreditation Board)
before March 2003, has been extended from 31 March 2004
to 31 December 2004.
Albeit the registration date
has been extended to end 2004, please register as soon as
possible if you haven’t done so. This is because the
very first List of Registered Colposcopists will be published
in the SCCPS website to coincide with the launch of the Cervical
Screen Singapore on 16 August 2004.
